Andreas Meletiou is Chief Executive Officer for Standard Chartered Bank in Iraq, responsible for the end-to-end management and strategic direction of the bank’s operations in Iraq. Before assuming this role, Andreas played an instrumental role in designing the strategy and setting up Standard Chartered Bank’s operations in Iraq and went on to oversee the Transaction Banking business.
Andreas was previously the Regional Head of Transaction Banking for the Banks segment in the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan for Standard Chartered Bank. As part of that role he led sales, product management and service for Bank clients across the region.
Andreas joined Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore in January 2007 and has held roles in banking strategy, business management and financial institutions business. Before joining Standard Chartered Bank, Andreas worked at Deutsche Bank and HSBC.
He holds a 1st class Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Management Sciences from the University of Manchester (UMIST), a Diploma in Actuarial Techniques from the Institute of Actuaries in London and an MBA from INSEAD
